BST to Dry Creek Connector
Intermediate singletrack linking the BST south section to Dry Creek Trail below Lone Peak. Rocky, exposed, with big Wasatch views.
This intermediate singletrack links the southern section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail above Sandy to the Dry Creek Trail on the flanks below Lone Peak. The roughly 8-mile route traverses the east bench of the Salt Lake Valley through scrub oak, Gambel oak, and rocky hillside terrain between 5,200 and 6,800 feet, with continuous views of Lone Peak's north face, the Twin Peaks massif, and the full span of the Salt Lake Valley. The trail includes some genuinely technical rocky sections — particularly in the upper Dry Creek approach where the bench crosses exposed quartzite slabs and loose talus. Several short but steep pitches test climbing fitness. The exposure on the bench above Sandy is real — narrow tread on sidehill traverses with meaningful drop-offs in places. This is not a beginner trail, despite some online descriptions suggesting otherwise. The route connects to the broader Corner Canyon system to the south and the central BST to the north, making it a critical link in the Wasatch Front trail network. Best ridden as a point-to-point with a car shuttle or as an out-and-back from either end.
