Desert Maritime is a small operation. We read everything that comes through and respond when we can.
General inquiries
Email hello@desertmaritime.com. Expect a reply within a few days during the river season, sometimes longer during peak trips.
What to write about
- Corrections. Flow thresholds, permit details, access changes — if something on the site is out of date or wrong, we want to know. Include the URL.
- Trip reports. If you want to contribute a trip report, send a short pitch with the river, section, dates, and a couple of sentences about the trip.
- Gear review inquiries. We do not accept unsolicited gear for review. If you have a relevant product, start with context — what the product is and who it is for.
- Photography. Licensing, crew credit, or permission questions — same email.
- Press and interview requests. Happy to talk about desert rivers, expedition planning, or the state of canyon-country access.
What we do not respond to
- SEO audit pitches, backlink offers, or content-syndication pitches.
- Requests to publish pre-written "guest post" content without an editorial relationship.
- AI-generated outreach. We can tell.
