Cirque Lake · Wasatch Range
Red Pine Lake
The signature moderate hike out of Little Cottonwood Canyon's south-side White Pine Trailhead. The trail splits at ~1 mile — bearing right leads to Red Pine Lake at 9,650 ft, a glacial cirque lake managed for native Bonneville Cutthroat Trout (Utah state fish). Upper Red Pine Lake adds ~1 mile and 500 ft of gain for a quieter basin. The standard staging for the Pfeifferhorn scramble.
