Temple Quarry Trail

A flat, paved, ADA-accessible loop at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon that walks the actual historical quarry site where LDS crews extracted the quartz monzonite ('temple granite') that built the Salt Lake Temple. Interpretive signage describes the 40-year quarry operation (1853–1893), the 3–5 day ox-team hauls to Temple Square, and the 1872–73 rail spur that replaced them. The trail sits outside the Little Cottonwood watershed boundary, making it one of the few places in the canyon where dogs are allowed.
