Sorrel River Ranch Resort and Spa
Fifty-nine rooms on a 240-acre Colorado River ranch at Mile 17 of UT-128, with full-service spa, riverside dining, and a working horseback operation.
Also known as: Sorrel River Ranch, Sorrel River Resort
Sorrel River Ranch sits at Mile 17 of Utah Scenic Byway 128 — three miles past Red Cliffs and roughly 20 miles upstream of Moab — on a 240-acre property pinned between the Colorado River and the cliffs of Castle Valley. Fifty-nine guestrooms in mesa- and river-facing studios, suites, and a private ranch estate. The property is the closest thing the Moab corridor has to a destination luxury resort: full-service Sorrel Spa, the River Grill restaurant overlooking the pool and the river, sauna and hot tub, and a working ranch operation with horseback riding, hay rides, and — yes — bocce ball on the lawn. The 240-acre site grows much of the produce served at River Grill. For travelers willing to drive the UT-128 corridor for a base camp instead of staying in town, this is the canonical luxury option.
