Ledge Rapid

Ledge Rapid at mile 19.88 of the San Juan from Sand Island is one of the first significant rapids on the commonly-run Sand Island to Mexican Hat float. A big shelf on river-left is often too shallow for rafts, forcing boaters into the splashy right channel. Read-and-run at most flows.
