Rapid 4

Rapid 4 is an unnamed upper Cataract rapid immediately above Rapid 5 (mile 210.7). The rapid sits in the upper-canyon rapid corridor and runs as a read-and-run Class III drop at most flows. At high water Rapids 4 and 5 merge into a sustained wave train. Immediately below Rapid 3 and above Rapid 5 (mile 210.7). Part of the upper rapid sequence where individual rapids run as distinct drops at moderate flows and coalesce into a continuous wave train above ~30,000 cfs.
