A small camp on river right at mile 174.7, less than two miles below the end of Cataract Canyon. RiverMaps records three things about it and Desert Maritime is not going to pad them: it is small, it is a low-water camp, it gets late afternoon sun, and it has no protection from the wind. That last pair is the whole character of the place — you arrive hot, you stay hot into the evening, and there is nothing between you and the canyon wind. It sits two tenths of a mile below the fault route up to the top of Mille Crag Bend, which is the only other reason to stop here.
