Class II+–III+ Rapid · Cataract Canyon
Rapid 10
In the Tilted Park reach.
Rapid 10 is an unnamed upper Cataract rapid in the Tilted Park reach. A wave-train drop with a downstream hole that can surprise paddlers who drift too far river-right at certain flows. The surrounding off-horizontal bedding of Tilted Park is most visible from the Rapid 10 run. Rapid 10 is the downstream end of the Tilted Park geologic reach. The river-right hole at the exit is a feature that surprises paddlers who drift off the main line — not consequential at moderate flows but worth sighting from upstream.
Difficulty
Class III at moderate flows. River-right hole at the exit is the feature to watch.
Scouting
Not typically scouted, though the exit hole gets attention from unfamiliar crews.
