Rapid 9

Rapid 9 is an unnamed upper Cataract rapid in the Tilted Park section of the canyon. The surrounding geology — sedimentary beds dipping visibly off-horizontal from Paradox-era salt tectonics — is the canyon's most readable expression of the underlying salt-basin deformation, visible from river level through the entire Rapid 9 / Rapid 10 reach.
